How to create an account and navigate Amilia University

Amilia University is your central hub for learning how to use SmartRec efficiently.

Amilia University will transition to a new home on February 9th, 2026. If you accessed Amilia University in the past year, you’ll receive an email notification to activate your new account. Your course progress has been migrated to the new platform, so you can easily pick up where you left off. If you need assistance, please contact learning@amilia.com.

1. How to create your Amilia University Account

To get started, you must create an account using your professional email address. This email address is your username in Amilia University.

Important : Always use your work email when registering. This ensures your learning history, certifications, and future access are associated to with your organization.

1.1 Steps to create your Amilia University account

  1. Click Register.

  2. Enter the following information:

    1. Email address (work email only)

    2. First name

    3. Last name

    4. Password. It must be at least 8 characters long and include both letters and numbers.

    5. Select your preferred language and time zone. This ensures you’ll see the content in your preferred language. Note that we only offer content in English and French Canadian at this time.

4. Accept the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions.

5. Click Next.

1.2 Account Number during registration

During registration, you will be asked to enter an Account Number and Organization name.

You can find your Account Number in your Amilia contract or in your monthly Amilia statement. This information will be shared with you by your Amilia representative during the first stages of your SmartRec implementation.

1.3 How to confirm your Amilia University registration by email

After completing the registration form, you’ll receive a confirmation email.

  1. Open the email titled “Please confirm your registration request”.

  2. Click the confirmation link.

  3. Once confirmed, you’ll be redirected to Amilia University.

Your account is now active.

2. How to sign in to Amilia University

To sign in at any time:

  1. Click Sign in.

  2. Enter your email address and password.

  3. Click Sign in.

3. How to update your Amilia University profile info

You can update your personal information in Amilia University after logging in.

Steps to upate your Amilia University profile information

  1. Click the User menu (top navigation).

  2. Select the pen icon to the right of your name and email address.

  3. Update your information as needed

  4. Personal info: review or change all information entered during registration (Name, Account ID, Role, etc.)

  5. Change password : you can update your password here.

  6. Preferences: you can change your language and time zone. If you do, you’ll only have access to content in the language you select.

  7. Content partners affiliation: we do not offer this service currently. You can skip this section.

  8. Condition of use: review the privacy policy or terms and conditions.

  9. Don’t forget to save your changes.

4. How to navigate Amilia University

Once signed in, you can access different areas of the platform using the User menu.

Access courses and learning plans you are enrolled in or have started.

You can return to the homepage at any time using the Homepage button
under the Amilia University logo at the top left of the screen.

4.1 What you can do on the Amilia University Homepage

On the homepage, you’ll find (in order):

  • A search bar at the top of the screen that allows you to search for content by keyword. Note that a search bar is also available in the Course and Video catalogs to help find content quickly.

  • A welcome message with a button that says How to use Amilia University, which links to this article (which you are currently reading).

  • Interactive widgets that may change over time:

    • Announcements: Displays important information such as SmartRec updates, newly available learning content, or other relevant notices.

    • Resume where you left off: Provides quick access to learning content you’ve started but haven’t finished yet.

    • Not started / Enrolled: Shows learning content you’re enrolled in or that has been assigned to you but not yet started.

  • Content catalogs available in Amilia University.

5. Understanding content types in Amilia University

Amilia University offers different types of learning content to support you at each stage of your SmartRec journey.

5.1 Learning Paths

Learning paths are guided learning experiences designed to help you progress step by step.

  • Each learning path focuses on a specific stage or theme (for example: getting started, configuring, or managing SmartRec).

  • A learning path is made up of multiple courses, organized in a recommended order.

  • When you click Explore, you can view the learning path details and enroll to start.

Learning paths are ideal if you are new to a topic and prefer a structured approach.

🎓 Courses in a learning path are available individually in the course catalog.

5.2 Courses

Courses focus on a specific feature or workflow in SmartRec.

  • Each course covers one topic in detail (for example: memberships, forms, Programs and activities).

  • Courses may include video tutorials, examples, and practical guidance.

  • You can enroll in a course directly from the Course Catalog or from within a learning path.

  • Some courses are made up of multiple sections. These are called Course Collections. Course collections are a group of related courses put together, so you can explore a full subject area in one place. ​

5.3 Videos

Videos are short, focused learning resources.

  • They usually explain a single action or concept.

  • Videos are ideal when you need a quick answer or a refresher.

  • They can easily be shared or embedded in your own learning resources.


6. How to rate Amilia University courses

Once a course is completed, you’ll be prompted to rate it. Please do! It helps us understand your needs and make sure what we create answers them.
